織 Textle Weaving
Through the study of traditional Ikat by natural dye, fabric designs with creative woven structure, and fiber-sculpture using the characteristic of materials, students devote themselves to a wide range of activities. They explore the challenging possibilities of a new style of expression.
Curriculum

Winding threads Cover the parts not to be dyed Dye <em>kasuri</em> threads Wind the warps (<em>kasuri</em>) on the chimaki bar (back beam) Arrange the warps through the heddles
<em>Tategasuri</em> (warp ikat) <em>Yokogasuri</em>(weft ikat) Collect materials for natural dyes Make samples of natural dyes for silk
<em>Tetsumugi</em> (hand spinning) Species of sheeps Carding (Mixing colors of raw wool) <em>Tetsumugi</em> (spining) Fulling Tapestry with a vertical loom
